Larry Halverson started playing the saxophone and moved on to the Irish tin whistle and flute after attending a Kennedy’s Kitchen concert. Their performance ignited Larry’s soul to learn Irish whistle techniques while forming his own style; Larry studied with Ireland’s leading performers and instructors.
Tim Staudacher, graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy and the University of Michigan School of Music, has taught instrumental music; he also retired from the Mona Shores Public Schools. He has a deep interest in folk music and currently plays in groups that perform American and Irish music.
A graduate of the University of Michigan School of Music, Bob Phillips taught orchestra and incorporated fiddling in his teaching. He created the Saline Fiddlers and has been called the “father of fiddling in the schools.” As a music teacher and author/composer he has received awards for excellence in teaching at the local, state, regional and national level. He has over 25 book series and 200 pieces of music published in the educational market.
