Stevensville, MI - After an extensive renovation, the Lincoln Township Public Library is set to officially reopen on Saturday, December 14th at 10:00 a.m. The ribbon cutting, hosted by the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber, will welcome the community back to the Library. Attendees will enjoy tours of the space’s new improved accessibility, updated facilities, and modernized features, door prizes, face painting, and STEM activities for kids. Light refreshments will be provided.
“The reopening of the Lincoln Township Public Library represents more than just a renovation, but a revitalization of their commitment to education, community, and accessibility,” says Arthur Havlicek, President & CEO of the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber. “During this extensive renovation, they’ve ensured the Library remains a place for learning, connection, and growth for everyone in our community, especially as it inspires future generations.”
During the renovation process, the Library was able to find alternative spaces for programs, book rentals, and additional resources, such as computer usage, that allowed the community to stay connected. Select programs were held throughout the community, with a temporary branch opening in an open storefront next to Roger’s Foodland in Royalton Township.
“We are so excited to welcome everyone back into our enhanced library,” said Joelle Wake, Library Director. “This renovation represents our commitment to creating a welcoming and dynamic space where everyone in the community can learn, connect, and thrive.”
The new updates include:
- Expanded meeting room for programs and activities, offering more opportunities for education and engagement.
- Digital Lab with enhanced technology and resources to support digital literacy and creativity.
- A new fireplace and cozy coffee nook, providing a relaxing space for patrons to read, work, or connect with others in a comfortable, inviting atmosphere.
- Modern ADA-Compliant Wayfinding Signage to improve accessibility for all patrons.
“We at Pearson Construction are honored to have been part of the Lincoln Township Library’s journey, first with the addition in 1997 and now with this transformative renovation. This reimagined space reflects the library team’s inspiring vision and commitment to creating a community hub where knowledge, connection, and creativity can thrive for people of all ages for years to come,” Burton Pearson II, President of Pearson Construction Company.
The grand re-opening is free and open to the public. Whether you're a long-time patron or new to the library, they invite you to celebrate this exciting milestone with them.
