The Lakeshore Excellence Foundation (LEF) and Lakeshore Public Schools Superintendent Greg Eding announced plans for $750,000 in major projects to expand robotics opportunities, strengthen teaching, launch inclusive athletics and improve classroom emergency preparedness across the district.

Eding and LEF Chairman J.C. Anderson shared the four-project investment Tuesday evening during the foundation’s Lancer Leader celebration at Solarium by Watermark. The reception honored current and new Lancer Leaders, who contribute $1,000 or more each year to support the LEF’s mission.

Proposed by Eding and the Lakeshore administrative team and approved by the LEF Board of Trustees, the projects reflect a shared commitment to enriching learning opportunities and supporting the students and staff of Lakeshore Public Schools.

“Our Lancer Leaders and the many individuals and businesses who support the LEF make investments like this possible,” said Anderson. “This celebration was an opportunity to thank them and show how their generosity will create new opportunities for Lakeshore students and provide meaningful support for our educators.”

The $750,000 investment includes four major projects:
LEF Robotics & Professional Development Center — $500,000 The largest investment will support a dedicated robotics hub with a FIRST competition field, design and meeting space, and a home for LEGO League. The center will also provide flexible training space for educators, bringing student innovation and professional learning together in one facility. The target opening is the 2028–29 school year.

Program Training for Professionals — $150,000
Three years of focused professional learning will support educators in literacy, math, behavior systems, technology and computer science. The investment is designed to strengthen classroom practice for the benefit of Lakeshore students.

Unified Sports at Lakeshore — $60,000
Inclusive athletics will bring students with and without intellectual disabilities together to build belonging, leadership and friendships. The first-year goal is to launch at least one program with 20 or more participants.

Emergency Classroom Kits — $40,000
Standardized preparedness supplies will equip 210 classrooms across the district. The kits will support safety, communication, first aid and sanitation during lockdowns, severe weather and other emergencies.

“These projects address needs across our district, from the spaces where students explore robotics to the training that helps teachers reach learners in their classrooms,” said Eding. “We are grateful to the LEF and its supporters for helping us create more opportunities for students to participate, learn and feel connected to their school community.”
