Lake Effect Jazz brings Big Band songs,
swing and swoon to the Box Factory on Sept. 20

ST. JOSEPH, MI – Now in its 26th year, Lake Effect Jazz Big Band continues to be one of the premier big bands in the Midwest. Featuring classic standards as well as new big band compositions, Lake Effect Jazz BB performs the music of Stan Kenton, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Pat Metheny and others.

Mark your calendar for their final, high-energy concert of the year on Saturday, Sept. 20, 7-9 p.m., at the Box Factory for the Arts. Tickets are $12 purchased in advance at ticketstripe.com/lakeeffect, or $15 at the door. Free admission for children 12 and under.

Audience members can sit back, perhaps enjoy a cocktail, beer or wine from the cash bar, and even cut a rug with their sweetheart at the Box Factory, 1101 Broad St.

Lake Effect Jazz is committed to preserving the uniquely American art form of big band jazz in concert and jazz festival settings across Southwest Michigan. The band is made up of nearly 20 skilled musicians led by Steven L. Reed, retired instrumental music teacher for St. Joseph Public Schools, where he taught jazz ensemble, orchestra, and band for 35 years. Several members of the band are current or retired music educators, making jazz education a priority for LEJBB. Find out more about the band on Facebook.
