Debbie Smidler, a licensed REALTOR® with eXp Realty, was named the 2025 REALTOR® of
the Year for the Southwestern Michigan Association of REALTORS at their Annual Recognition
Gala held in January.
Smidler is a licensed REALTOR® with over 20 years of office management experience and 25
years of customer service experience and holds several professional designations, including
Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), At Home with Diversity (AHWD), and Pricing
Strategy Advisor (PSA) certifications.
Smidler also received the Presidential Cup Award in 2023. The President’s Cup recognizes the
hard work local REALTOR ® leaders perform to advance the REALTOR ® Association. This high
honor continues as REALTOR ® leaders and local associations are urged to achieve important
advocacy and RPAC goals.
Smidler has built her career on the principles of trust, empathy, and innovation. Her service on
various Southwestern Michigan Association of REALTORS® committees- including the
Standard Forms Committee, West Michigan Regional Forms Committee, Finance Committee,
REIS Tech Committee, and Education Committee- has allowed her to contribute to the growth
and development of the industry. She has contributed in many other ways including mentoring
fellow agents, sharing her knowledge, and helping shape policies that advance the real estate
profession.
Beyond her professional contributions, Smidler is committed to serving her community in any
capacity that she can. Whether volunteering with Soup Kitchen Inc. to provide meals to those in
need, supporting local senior centers, or advocating for homeownership rights through RPAC,
Smidler strives to make a positive impact on the lives of others while always sharing a warm
smile. These efforts reflect her belief that REALTORS® play a vital role not only in the housing
market, but also building stronger, more inclusive communities.
Overall, Smidler is dedicated not only to professional excellence, but to serving her clients,
