Contemporary Dance Troupe Performs 'in the Round' at Box Factory on June 7
Tickets can be purchased online for $12 general admission or $15 cabaret tables at ticketstripe.com/cprdance2025. Walk-in tickets are $15. Admission is free for children 12 and under.
“Resonance” is a collection of new works that is touring throughout Michigan and in Chicago, New York and Texas. The show features works by CPR Dance artistic director Carolyn Pampalone Rabbers and assistant director Sara Kausch, as well as guest artists including world-renowned dancer/choreographer Seyong Kim, Saygia Eugene Peabody, Ciana Jao, and members of CPR Dance.
Dancers will perform “in the round,” or in the center of the room with the audience seated in a circle around them, giving everyone an intimate view of the performance. “It’ll be very up-close, almost like you’re on stage yourself,” Rabbers said. The title of the dance concert refers to how people explore connections through movement, she said. “‘Resonance’ is about how we affect our external and internal environments.”
Rabbers founded CPR Dance: Inhale Movement four years ago in her hometown of Stevensville, Mich., with the belief that movement is as fundamental to existence as breath. She now spends part of the year teaching dance at Texas A&M University. CPR Dance is comprised of professional dancers who have extensive experience in performing, teaching, and choreographing. For their upcoming performance at the Box Factory, they will be joined by students from the Fusion Center for Dance in Benton Harbor. Learn more at inhalemovement.com.
