Wightman, a prominent civil engineering, architecture, and surveying firm serving communities across the Great Lakes region, is proud to announce the addition of Anthony Ladd, PE, PMP as Municipal Services Manager.
In this position, Ladd will oversee Wightman’s municipal services team, partnering with communities across the region to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions for water, sewer, roadway, and stormwater systems. His leadership will support municipalities in navigating complex regulatory environments while maximizing funding opportunities and long-term operational efficiency.
With more than 15 years of experience in public infrastructure and project management, Ladd brings a strong background in municipal engineering, capital improvement planning, and infrastructure asset management to his new role. His professional journey spans both the public and private sectors, where he has successfully led a wide range of projects focused on improving quality of life through strategic and sustainable development.
Ladd earned a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Tennessee – Knoxville in 2010 and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Alabama in 2022. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and serves as a member of the Kalamazoo County Advisory Board of Public Works. Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Ladd began his engineering career as a technician with Professional Service Industries in 2008 before joining the Mississippi Department of Transportation. During his eight-year career there, he began as a project manager while an Engineer in Training (EIT) before being promoted to Assistant Traffic Engineer, and then Assistant District Maintenance Engineer as a PE.
In 2019, Ladd and his family relocated to Michigan, where he began serving as Assistant City Engineer for the City of Kalamazoo’s Public Works Department. His leadership and technical expertise led to his promotion in 2020 to Public Works Division Manager. In 2024, he advanced to the federal level, joining the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration as a Project Manager. Ladd brought his extensive experience to Wightman in May 2025, where he now serves as the firm’s Municipal Services Manager.
“We are thrilled to welcome Anthony to the Wightman team,” said Wightman’s Director of Engineering Kevin Marks, PE. “His passion for infrastructure, strategic mindset, and deep understanding of municipal operations align perfectly with our mission to serve communities with excellence and integrity. Anthony's experience in the public sector is a perfect addition to bridge consulting services with municipal client needs.”
Ladd has a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams, facilitating collaboration among stakeholders, and delivering high-impact results.
“I always valued being able to work with Wightman on previous projects. Wightman was a firm that I counted on for reliable advice and seemed to have a positive culture of like-minded individuals who were dedicated to serving clients. I’m excited to join the team, help communities plan for the future in ways that are both visionary and practical, and be part of great projects,” said Ladd. “Wightman’s commitment to clients, impressive work culture, and their trusted advisor status make it an ideal fit for my values and professional goals.”
Outside of work, Ladd is married with two children and resides in Portage. He enjoys spending time with family outdoors, loves to cook and travel, and finds value in helping others.
