Veteran Makers Market at Sticky Spoons Jams

On Sunday, November 10, from 10am to 3pm, Sticky Spoons Jam is proud to host its Veteran Makers Market, featuring 10 small veteran-owned businesses. The veteran makers will be displaying and selling their work, including macrame, soap, woodwork, alpaca yarn and more. Sticky Spoons jams and jellies will also be available for purchase. Each guest will receive a raffle ticket for every veteran maker they support.

Aiye Akhigbe, the founder and owner of Sticky Spoons Jam LLC is a Navy veteran. She created this market in 2023 to support veteran-made businesses. Her store currently carries products made by seven veterans and her hope is to grow that to 10 makers by 2025.

Akhigbe said, “As a veteran maker, I have received tremendous support from many individuals and organizations in growing my business. Our Veteran Makers Market allows us, in turn to support other veteran small producers. We welcome the makers to our location and offer the community an opportunity to support small veteran-owned businesses. Come out, grab a cup of coffee or lemonade and some of our in house-made cookies, chat with a vendor and kickstart your holiday shopping.”

The market will run 10am to 3pm, with coffee and lemonade donated and served by Lunar Lounge Mobile Cart. At noon, all veterans present will muster for a group photo donated by OnBase Productions.

Sticky Spoons Store is located at 11801 Pucker St, Niles MI. Veterans and active duty servicemembers with ID always receive a 10% discount at the Store.
