The YMCA of Greater Michiana is proud to announce the appointment of Trevor A. Strefling, partner at Tyler Automotive in Niles, Michigan, to its Board of Directors.
Strefling brings a strong commitment to community involvement, family values, and people-centered leadership, along with a personal connection to the YMCA’s mission of strengthening families and youth development. A longtime supporter of health and wellness, he credits his experiences growing up at the South Bend YMCA with shaping his belief in the importance of safe, enriching spaces for people of all ages.
“I’ve been looking for the right way to get more involved in the community, and the Y just felt like the perfect fit,” said Strefling. “It brings people together—from kids and teens to seniors—giving everyone a team to be part of and a place to belong. That’s something I want to help strengthen for future generations.”
Before entering the automotive industry, Strefling spent eight years in the food business with Lipari Foods, selling food, beverages, and packaging. Today, he is a partner at Tyler Automotive, working alongside his father-in-law and brothers-in-law to continue the company’s long-standing tradition of community support, including decades of involvement with the YMCA. Together, the entire family is passionate about making Michiana a stronger place to live and work, both now and for future generations.

Drew III. “His leadership, community connections, and dedication to strengthening families align perfectly with the Y’s mission, and we look forward to the contributions he will bring.”
Outside of work, Strefling lives in Granger, Indiana with his wife, Sarah, their two young sons, Nolan and Knox, and the family dog, Addison. He enjoys golf, cooking, music, and spending time with friends and family.
