The GhostLight Theatre announces that they have been given an incredibly generous anonymous gift of $100,000. The donor has agreed to match 2-to-1 any and all dollars raised up to $50,000 given towards the GhostLight 2025 Theatre Season. The GhostLight is pleased to announce this gift in order to springboard their fundraising efforts as well as to kick off donations this Giving Tuesday (Tuesday, December 3rd).
The GhostLight has also received a 2nd anonymous donation in order to name the annual Emerging Artist Award after theatre friend and patron Bud Shuler. This past November 10th, this award was given to Paige Mulick along with $1,000 gift for the first of it’s kind as The Bud Shuler Emerging Artist Award. Mulick has been a mainstay this season and since the theatre’s inception, but this season in particular she not only choreographed Bright Star, Rocky Horror & She Kills Monsters, but also starred in and performed the role of The Leading Player in Pippin as well as reprising the role of Janet Weiss in The Rocky Horror Show – The Musical.
“We are incredibly delighted that our donors and patrons continue to step up in major ways towards funding our efforts here in both the Benton Harbor and Southwest Michigan communities,” says General Manager and Artistic Director Paul Mow. “We continue to add educational components to our didactic theatre programming such as CircEsteem and our Young Adult Training Program in order to offer our area performers and designers opportunities to learn even more about how the performing arts can enrich their lives as well as our community as a whole.” Mow continues: “As we turn the page on our first 5 years and begin to explore possibilities of expansion, gifts like these will continue to enliven our own efforts as well as add energy throughout the entire arts district to keep the performing arts alive and well into the next decade.”
