Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra Summer Pop Up Concert Series June 2, 2022

Saint Joseph, Michigan – The first of the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra’s Pop Up! Concert is this Thursday, June 2, and features members of the symphony orchestra and friends!

The Iridescent Zeal Quartet will kick off the series with selected pieces by composers Grieg, Schubert and Haydyn. Edvard Grieg’s posthumously published Quartet #2 and Schubert’s single movement Quartet #12, both left unfinished, join forces with Haydn’s “Emperor” Quartet for a moving exploration of 18th and 19th century masters.

The concert will be at 4 pm in the beautiful garden of the Maud Preston Palenske Memorial Library, 500 Market St., St. Joseph. Please bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Brian the Munchie Man’s food truck will be on site and will offer selections available to purchase, or you may bring your own food and beverage, if desired.

These concerts were started during the pandemic as a thank you to the community for its support of the SMSO. The SMSO hopes the community will enjoy these rousing orchestral offerings Thursdays in June at the library.

They are FREE to the public, however, if you are so moved, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to help ensure the fiscal health of the SMSO.
