Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra presents its 2024-2025 Mainstage Season 

St. Joseph, Michigan - Fill your calendar with memorable live-music experiences as you escape the ordinary with the Southwest Michigan Symphony Orchestra. The 2024-2025 Mainstage season offers an exciting mix of classical, contemporary and “what’s next,” showing the vibrancy of symphonic music today. 

Timeless works continue to inspire new artists and future generations. Programmed by the SMSO’s Music Director Matthew Aubin, the season promises to excite and will showcase a variety of music and special guests sure to be of interest to everyone. 

A free 30-minute pre-concert conversation with Maestro Matthew Aubin delves into each concert’s featured musical works and composers enhancing the evening’s experience for concert-goers. This special feature is available prior to each classical concert. 

The Symphony’s Mainstage Season includes: 

October 26, 2024 | 7:30 pm | Beethoven and the Heavens | Mendel Center Jenkins Theatre. Experience the cosmos as we weave the iconic Fifth Symphony by Beethoven with Williams’ Serenade to Music. Guest artists are the French saxophone quartet, Quatuor Ellipsos, and the Southwest Michigan choir, Chorllenium led by David Carew and James Kraus. _______ 

December 21, 2024 | 6:30 pm | Merry and Bright | Mendel Center Jenkins Theatre. Features a performance by a youth dance troupe from the Citadel Dance and Music Center. ______ 

February 22, 2025 | 7:30 pm | Bach and Assad | First Congregational Church, St. Joseph. Features special guest artists Mary Elizabeth Bowden (trumpet) and Southwest Michigan’s Chorllennium.

May 17, 2025 | 7:30 pm | Symphony: Unexpected | Mendel Center Jenkins Theatre. Features a side-by-side performance with the Lake Michigan Youth Orchestra.

Single tickets are now on sale starting at $24 for adults and $12 for youth ages 6-17. Save with multi-ticket packages and single ticket discounts where applicable. Rates are available for groups, seniors, and children age 5 and under, or student families enrolled in participating schools.
