UNION PIER, MI – The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber and New Buffalo Township invite the community to celebrate the grand opening of the brand-new 18-hole disc golf course at Glassman Park (16680 Glassman Road Union Pier, MI 49129) on Friday, October 31st, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.. Speaking engagements will begin promptly at 11:15 a.m.
Located at the end of Glassman Road in Union Pier, the new course marks an exciting addition to Glassman Park and the greater New Buffalo area. Designed with accessibility in mind, the course includes an ADA-accessible tee pad, allowing players of all abilities to enjoy the growing sport of disc golf.
Funding for the project was made possible through generous grants from The Pokagon Fund and a Michigan State appropriation secured through Representative Andrews’ office.
In addition to the new disc golf course, Glassman Park continues to offer a variety of outdoor amenities, including a scenic walking path and an ADA-accessible kayak launch, providing residents and visitors with even more opportunities to connect with nature and stay active.
“Our goal has always been to create inclusive, engaging outdoor spaces for everyone in our community,” said Pat Donnelly, New Buffalo Township Parks Director. “The new disc golf course at Glassman Park is a great example of a place where people of all ages and abilities can come together, enjoy the outdoors, and have fun.”
The Township and Chamber look forward to welcoming disc golf enthusiasts, community members, and local leaders to celebrate this exciting milestone for New Buffalo Township.
