Veggie Van to Offer Free Healthy Foods, Nutrition Information
 
(ST. JOSEPH) – The Veggie Van is making its way throughout Berrien County. This mobile farmer’s market will offer free, locally grown, top-quality, healthy fruits and vegetables, and nutrition information. Upcoming events in May and June include: 
  • Thursday, May 18 at University Medical Specialties, located at 9045 US-31, in Berrien Springs from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, June 14 at InterCare Community Health Network, located at 800 M 139, in Benton Harbor from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. 
  • Thursday, June 29 at Primary Care: Coloma, located at 6701 Paw Paw Ave, in Coloma from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 
 
The event will be held drive-through style and participants can remain in their vehicle as they pick up a bag of fresh produce. A total of 100 bags will be available on a first come, first serve basis.
 
The goal of the program is to ensure that fruits and vegetables are available to people who otherwise have limited access to fresh produce. The Veggie Van is made possible through the generosity of Corewell Health, the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids and the YMCA of Greater Michiana. Find more information on these upcoming events at spectrumhealthlakeland.org/events.
