New Heights CCDA is proud to announce a year of remarkable achievements in 2024, significantly enhancing the lives of individuals and families in our community through dedicated service and innovative programs.
New Heights Auto Ministry: Driving Change
In 2024, the New Heights Auto Ministry conducted 232 vehicle repairs and provided 32 vehicles to those in need. These efforts assisted 100 households through our services, resulting in an impressive $105,923 directly saved by clients through subsidized repairs. The overall economic impact of these initiatives amounted to a staggering $2,000,000 in our community, as reliable transportation enabled clients to gain or maintain employment, improving financial stability and independence.
One recipient shared, "As a single parent with tight finances, the subsidized repair I received has been a tremendous help. It allowed me to keep getting to work and providing for myself and my kids."
Community Food Network: Nourishing Families
The New Heights Community Food Network distributed over 8,321 pounds of farm-fresh produce, 375 gallons of milk, and 730 dozen eggs, along with thousands of pounds of nutrient-rich meats, frozen vegetables, cheeses, and essential household items. We served 781 households, representing 1,774 individuals, including 151 youth, 43 seniors, and 5 veterans, providing more than $58,000 worth of food. Additionally, 121 individuals were assisted with emergency food bags during critical times.
A community member expressed, "I don't know how I'd possibly feed my family without this; the cost of food right now is insane. Thanks for making sure we have quality things to choose from. I feel seen and respected."
New Heights Laundry Hub: Clean Clothes, Fresh Starts
Since its opening in May 2024, the New Heights Laundry Hub has averaged 246 loads of laundry per month. The facility has hosted 30 community events, welcoming 360 participants, and has installed a bicycle repair station for public use.
Community Dinners: Fostering Connections
Ten free community dinners were organized, featuring 15 speakers from various social and human service agencies, with an average attendance of 50 people per event. These gatherings have strengthened community bonds and provided valuable resources to attendees.
Reflecting on the year's accomplishments, Executive Director Chris Britton stated, "The success of our programs in 2024 underscores the power of community collaboration and the unwavering commitment of our supporters. Together, we have made a tangible difference in the lives of many, and we look forward to building on this momentum in the coming year."
