Lake Michigan College invites area employers to connect with students

BENTON HARBOR, MICH. – Lake Michigan College invites area employers to connect with students through three on-campus opportunities during the Fall semester.

Businesses and organizations can be featured through the Employer Spotlight Program on the Benton Harbor and South Haven campuses. Each spotlight includes a booth or table where company representatives can engage one-on-one with interested students. Information about upcoming visits is emailed to all students and displayed on digital screens across campus.

Employer Spotlights are offered weekly during the semester on the Benton Harbor campus, Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The South Haven campus program is offered on the third Thursday of each month.

The College is also hosting a series of Career Expos held in conjunction with industry-focused LMC Open House Nights. The expos double as career fairs for current students and community members and as career exploration events for potential college students and their parents.

Industry-specific Career Expo dates are:
  • Business – Oct. 3
  • Arts & Sciences – Oct. 10
  • Health Sciences – Oct. 23
  • All majors at South Haven Campus – Nov. 6
  • Skilled Trades and Technology – Nov. 12

The third opportunity is the Red Hawk Future Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the College’s Benton Harbor Campus. This is a combined career and transfer fair where students can explore their next steps after finishing their studies at LMC.

“These in-person events provide the ideal setting for employers to build interest about careers at their organizations, whether or not they are hiring at the moment,” stated LMC Career Development Coordinator Kathi Szabo. “It’s an opportunity for businesses to make valuable connections with students and community members who are considering career paths in Southwest Michigan.”

All three opportunities are free to employers. Companies can sign up or obtain more information by contacting Szabo at careerservices@lakemichigancollege.edu
