July 14 - 16 - Quilt show at the Box Factory for the Arts

ST. JOSEPH, MI - Colorful quilts will fill the main floor galleries of the Box Factory for the Arts, 1101 Broad Street, on July 14 through 16. The show hours are Thursday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibits feature quilts by members of the Berrien Towne & Country Quilters as well as some vintage quilts. Admission to the quilt exhibit, boutique, and special activities is $5 per day, with a portion of sales supporting the Box Factory for the Arts.
Throughout the three days of the quilt show, raffle tickets will be sold for a quilt hand quilted by a member of the Berrien Towne and Country Quilters. Mini quilts on display will be available for purchase in a silent auction with all proceeds going to Lory's Place, a grief, healing and education center. Vendors will also have quilt-related items for sale throughout the show.
Activities in the stage area on Saturday, July 16, include a 1 p.m. talk on "Thirties Quilts" by Denise Tackett and a 2 p.m. Quilts of Valor presentation to five area service members and veterans who have been touched by war.
The Berrien Towne and Country Quilters was founded in 1983 to promote fellowship among persons interested in all aspects of quilting. Their mission is to preserve quilting heritage and traditions, to encourage quilt making and collecting, to promote an appreciation of fine design and workmanship, and to continue to improve skills and education. The organization meets on the second Thursday of the month at the Stevensville United Methodist Church.
