Greater Bridgman CGA Announces Return of the Street Dance

Beloved Tradition Returns as Part of Celebrate Bridgman on July 12th

For Immediate Release: May 29, 2025

Bridgman, Michigan – The Greater Bridgman Area Chamber and Growth Alliance (CGA) in partnership with Classic Catering & Events, Indiana Michigan Power an AEP Company and the greater Bridgman community is excited to announce the Street Dance will return as part of Celebrate Bridgman on July 12th.

For many years hundreds of individuals would gather in downtown Bridgman for the annual Street Dance; the event jokingly being referred to as a giant community, family, and school reunion that created a lifetime's worth of memories for attendees. Originally hosted by the Bridgman Fire Department, the Street Dance was put on hiatus due to COVID.

“After the success of last year’s Celebrate Bridgman event, recognizing the City’s 75th Birthday, the CGA approached Fire Chief Joel Buist and City Manager Juan Ganum about bringing back the Street Dance to coincide with the summer celebration,” said Nancy Kiernan, Director of the Greater Bridgman CGA. “Both felt our organization could bring it back and create an ideal ending to the Celebrate Bridgman festivities.”

Celebrate Bridgman kicks off with the Bridgman 5K/10K, & 1.1 Mile Fun Run starting at 8:00 a.m., interested racers can sign up here: runsignup.com/Race/MI/Bridgman/5K10K.  Whether you’re an avid runner or prefer a slower pace, there is a distance for everyone, including options for those who wish to participate virtually. Proceeds from the races will help to fund Bridgman Cross Country and Track & Field programs.

Families will have the opportunity to enjoy multiple activities throughout the day including the Autos ‘n Ales Car Show at the Haymarket Taproom, a ‘Paint by Numbers’ mural painting hosted by the Corridor Improvement Authority inside the Courtyard, Pop-Up Market at Transient Artisan Ales, and the incredibly popular parade! Those wishing to participate in the parade can email organizer Sarah Buist at bridgmanparadecelebration.75@yahoo.com.

The day will come to a close with the Street Dance inside the Bridgman Courtyard featuring live music, local food trucks, and several beverage options including craft beer and wine from the Bridgman area. The Bridgman Fire Department will be onsite serving hamburgers and hotdogs as a fundraiser for their department.

“Our hope is we can celebrate our community as the gateway to the Makers Trail Festival and return to the tradition of the Bridgman Street Dance; giving residents and visitors the opportunity to gather together for a night of fun during the summer,” adds Brett Boyd owner of Classic Catering & Events and the Title Sponsor for the event. “Many of us love Bridgman and what it has to offer, ultimately we want to create something that brings back that feeling of belonging and being proud of our community.”

The Street Dance is a cash only event. Tickets can be purchased online at tinyurl.com/StreetDanceTix25 or at D’Agostino’s Navajo Restaurant, Harding’s Friendly Market in Bridgman, Transient Artisan Ales, or United Federal Credit Union in Bridgman for $5.
