Bridgman, Michigan – In what can easily be described as a Norman Rockwell Christmas event, Bridgman’s Holiday Village is set to once again transform the downtown into a day of family fun on Saturday, December 14th. The event, which is organized and orchestrated by the Greater Bridgman Area Chamber & Growth Alliance, an affiliate of the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber, has been a holiday staple for residents and visitors to the community for years.
The full day of fun starts at 9:00 a.m. with downtown merchant activities that run throughout the day. At 1:00 p.m. the wildly popular holiday pop-up market opens inside Immanuel Lutheran Church and School until 5:00 p.m. Vendors will feature homegrown, homemade, and hand-crafted items perfect for last minute stocking stuffers, gifts, or simply as treats for yourself.
Other activities include the showing of the movie “Elf” at the Bridgman Public Library; Christmas Cardio Kickboxing with Lake Side Fit at their new Lake Street location; the Pet Parade at 3:00 p.m., free pet photos at Transient Artisan Ales; a Live Nativity at Immanuel Lutheran; caroling; and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus, and so much more!
Based on the popularity of last years “Frostina the Snowman” contest, which saw merchants decorating planters throughout the downtown, 2024’s Holiday Village event will allow visitors to vote on their favorite decorated Christmas Tree. Located next to Transient Artisan Ales, the “tree walk” will host up-to 10 different trees decorated by businesses in the Bridgman and Lake Township communities. Each tree will feature its own theme that is custom created by the sponsoring business with the winner announced immediately following the Christmas Tree lighting. Current participating businesses include: Accents at Himalaya Textiles, Haymarket Taproom, Lake Side Fit, Paws to Wash, Petals by Classic, Transient Artisan Ales, and United Federal Credit Union.
At 6:00 p.m. attendees will gather around the brand new 18-foot Christmas Tree, now located next to the “tree walk” for the official lighting ceremony hosted by Bridgman Mayor Jan Trapani, and Lake Charter Township Supervisor Zach Carson. The tree lighting will include caroling with the Miss Bridgman Court and Immanuel Lutheran Church.
New for 2024 is the Adult only Snowball Party from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. at the Bridgman American Legion. The Snowball Party will allow adults an opportunity to enjoy music from DJ Frank, a cash only cash bar, and light appetizers from Classic Catering & Events. Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5 per person.
