Originally from Anderson, Indiana, Dr. McKuras was raised in both Indiana and Illinois and is a graduate of Mahomet-Seymour High School in Mahomet, IL. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology Pre-Medicine from Indiana Wesleyan University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University, graduating with highest distinction and earning membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.
Following her doctoral training, Dr. McKuras completed a residency in neuro-ocular rehabilitation and ocular disease at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Her clinical passions include helping patients with complex visual needs and providing compassionate, thorough care.
Beyond her work in the clinic, Dr. McKuras has participated in international mission trips that brought eye care to underserved communities in Ukraine (2021), Guyana (2022), and Dominica (2024). She is an active member of both the American Academy of Optometry and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. McKuras and her husband, Camden, have been married since 2019. Camden is a fellow Indiana Wesleyan University graduate with degrees in Christian Ministry and Practical Theology. Together, they look forward to joining the community and plan to attend Overflow Church in Benton Harbor.
