FREEDOM BOAT CLUB OF MICHIANA TO HOST BEACH CLEANUP WITH ALLIANCE FOR THE GREAT LAKES AT JEAN KLOCK PARK

Join them on Wednesday, June 24th

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

JUNE 18TH

ST. JOSEPH/BENTON HARBOR, Mich. — Freedom Boat Club of Michiana and the Alliance for the Great Lakes are hosting a beach cleanup at Jean Klock Park in Benton Harbor from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, June 24. Community members interested in participating can register at fbcmichiana.com/beachcleanup.

Through the Alliance for the Great Lakes' Adopt-a-Beach program, volunteers will help remove litter and debris from the Lake Michigan shoreline while supporting a regionwide effort to keep beaches healthy, safe and beautiful.

The cleanup is part of a season-long partnership between Freedom Boat Club and the Alliance focused on protecting and preserving the waterways that help define life along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

In addition to the beach cleanup, the organizations are working toward a goal of raising $7,500 to support the Alliance's efforts across the Great Lakes region. The effort includes a public GoFundMe campaign as well as Boat Trip Bucks, a member-driven program in which participants pledge $1 for every boat trip they take between Memorial Day and Labor Day, with the club matching every dollar donated.
