Fernwood’s annual Garden Party fundraiser is returning this fall on Sunday, September
21, starting at 2 PM.

The event will include remarks and a meet-and-greet with special guest Daniel Hinkley, a
renowned plantsman, author, plant collector, and lecturer. A Michigan native, Hinkley is best
known for founding Heronswood Nursery in Kingston, Washington, and Windcliff on the Kitsap
Peninsula near Indianola, Washington. He has gained recognition for his efforts in collecting,
propagating, and naming plant varieties new to the North American nursery trade. Hinkley is also
the designer of Fernwood's newest garden and teaching space, The Stumpery.

For an added touch of natural fun, Herbal Tarot readings will be available, where each card
corresponds to a specific medicinal herb based on intuition, astrology, and energetic insights.

Guests will enjoy food prepared by Chef Tim Carrigan of Wood, Stock and Grill, and Chef Barbara
Funnell of The Grateful Pie Company. Beverages, including craft beer and wine, will also be
available.

Attendees are encouraged to explore the garden before taking part in a live auction. The auction
will feature various items and experiences, including a trip to Seattle with airfare,
accommodations, and multiple personalized garden tours. Additionally, an online silent auction
will be held, showcasing more exciting items, including beautifully designed garden planters
created by Fernwood’s staff.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will support Fernwood's efforts to care for and maintain the
105-acre property, as well as its environmental education programs, including internships, school
field trips, and summer day camps.

Tickets are available now through September 7 at fernwoodbotanical.org/gardenparty.
