BUCHANAN, Mich. — The Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce (BACC) invites members and the community to its Annual Meeting and Dinner on Thursday, October 1, at The Loading Dock, 325 E. Front Street, Suite 118, Buchanan, MI 49107. Doors open at 5:00 PM.
The evening will bring together local business owners, community leaders, and chamber members for an update on the chamber's work over the past year, a special guest speaker, and the presentation of the chamber's most prestigious community awards.
"Our Annual Meeting and Dinner is one of our favorite nights of the year," said Patrick Swem, Board Chair, Buchanan Area Chamber of Commerce. "It's a chance to look back at everything our members and volunteers accomplished in 2025, and to recognize the people and organizations who make the greater Buchanan community such a great place to live and do business."
Event Highlights
- Chamber Recap and Update — A look back at BACC programs, events, and accomplishments from the past year, along with a preview of what's ahead.
- Awards Presentation — The chamber will honor three award recipients for their contributions to the greater Buchanan community in 2025:
- Dale E. Florey Volunteer of the Year—This award honors an individual who consistently places the needs of the community above their own. The recipient demonstrated extraordinary service and dedication to the greater Buchanan community through their volunteer efforts in 2025.
- Business/Organization of the Year — This award honors a business, organization, or club that has made a meaningful contribution to community development and quality of life in the greater Buchanan area. The recipient demonstrated outstanding commitment to the greater Buchanan community in 2025.
- Lifetime Achievement—This award honors an individual who has devoted a lifetime of time and energy to the betterment of our community, and who continues to do so with excellence.
Celebrating Past Honorees
Past recipients of these awards include Peter Lysy (Dale E. Florey Volunteer of the Year), Chunk's Ice Cream (Business/Organization of the Year), and Jerry Flenar (Lifetime Achievement)—community members and organizations whose contributions continue to shape the greater Buchanan area.
