Bridgman Open Air Market Annual Kids Day!
Prizes, demonstrations and more..

Bridgman— 7/8/2024 — The Bridgman Open Air Market welcomes the public to its annual Kids’ Day event on Sunday July 14th.  The Bridgman Open Air Market: homegrown flowers, freshly -baked goods, locally sourced honey, dog treats and numerous booths of handcrafted items made by local artisans plays host once again to a day of merriment, mirth and fun. The vendors are all encouraged to set up an activity for the kids as well as some pre-planned activities from the market.
“Kids’ Day is an opportunity for parents and kids to have some fun in the sun and to learn different crafts themselves. Some of our vendors set up make-and-takes that help the children acquire different skills and talents” said Roseann Stachowiak, Market Manager at the Bridgman Open Air Market.

Activities

On Sunday the 14th we will have a volunteer dressed up as Bluey to pose and take pictures with the kids, two forges will be in full swing at the market to show-off their craftsmanship and several others will be doing demonstrations of their crafts for the community to see. All participating vendors are encouraged to provide make-and-takes or have small giveaways for the kids at their booths.
“Our vendors relish a chance to teach newer generations some of their skills, so far we have sticker making, bracelet making, giveaways and more coming from our vendors” said Adrian Quint, Assistant Market Manager,  . “Besides all of the trinkets, candy and memories we hope the kids leave with new doors open and new possibilities for them to pick up skills and hobbies that they can carry on.”
Safety at the Market
This year emergency services will be returning to the market to ensure public safety, give demonstrations and to positively interact with their community. Safety, as always, is the number one priority of the market. Here are some safety tips for Kids’ Day to make the most out of all of the demonstrations:
1)      Wear closed toe shoes
2)      Jeans or natural fiber clothing that covers the whole legs
3)      Long sleeves
4)      Stay hydrated
We encourage everyone that comes to Kids’ Day to keep their skin covered especially near forge demonstrations as the blacksmiths will potentially have sparks flying at their booths. Polyester fabrics and open-toed shoes are not encouraged as they may lead to burns and that is the last thing the staff at the Bridgman Open Air Market want to happen.
