WHAT: American Airlines’ inaugural service from South Bend International Airport (SBN) to Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) takes off operated by regional partner, The Landline Company, on a 35-seat luxury motorcoach. To celebrate the new service, passengers on board the 1:35 p.m. departure will be treated to a gate party with snacks and SBN giveaways.
Passengers will board from SBN’s newest Gate 10. Two SBN Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting trucks will send off the departure with a water cannon salute.
ORD is American’s third hub served from SBN. The route operates four-times daily, in both directions, connecting travelers to more than 150 destinations globally from Chicago with this new seamless gate-to-gate service. Customers will clear security in SBN and enter the terminal to catch their connecting flight.
Prior to customers boarding, media will be escorted onto the ramp and onto the 35-seat motorcoach for a first look. The motorcoach includes many amenities passengers expect from the first-class cabin of a regional jet, including in-seat power, WiFi, plentiful legroom, and leather seats.
WHEN: Monday, October 6, 2025. Media must arrive by 12:10 p.m. in baggage claim to be escorted through security. Parking is available in the short-term parking lot; bring stub in for validation.
