About Us
Since 1972, Flowers Early Learning, formerly Tri-County Head Start has served more than 40,000 children and families in Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren Counties with comprehensive, whole-child, whole-family services. Flowers currently serves 908 children ages birth to 5, and expectant families prenatally in 22 sites and 46 classrooms..
Using the High Scope curriculum as our foundation we draw inspiration from both Reggio-Emilia and Montessori approaches. Building trusting, loving relationships is the cornerstone of our practices. Our classrooms support social-emotional wellness using the Conscious Discipline method. Our safe and open-ended classroom are intentionally designed to allow for students to explore, grow and build developmental skills. Using loose parts, real items for play and natural elements, we provide experiences for problem solving and critical thinking. At Flowers Early Learning, we are responsive to students’ ideas and culture by ensuring the environment reflects and respects individuals, families, and the communities they live in. At Flowers Early Learning, we support children, families, and communities on their path to success.
