EI Paraprofessional 

Location:  Roosevelt Elementary School, Stevensville, MI 49127

Hours:     36.5 hours per week


  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent preferred.

  • High School graduate or equivalent.

  • Advanced training in a field related to child care and/or a minimum of two years of experience as an aide or equivalent experience.

  • Competent in the following areas:  communication skills, organization, and in establishing excellent interpersonal relationships with staff and students.


  • Working in the Resource Room (K-5) to assist students and teachers.

  • Effectively participate in building activities.

  • Assist in planning and implementation of instructional support and training activities with students under the direction of the teacher.

  • Be responsible for the supervision and direction of students including lunch and recess time.

  • Help maintain instructional area, supplies, equipment, and facilities in a clean/safe condition.  Includes cleaning/disinfecting classroom environment.

  • Assist teachers and support staff in preparing materials, housekeeping, recordkeeping, and data collection relative to student progress.

  • Provide instruction and training on an individual student basis, in a small group or one-to-one tutorial instruction.

  • Participate in special instructional activities to meet program and student goals (e.g. loading/unloading buses, physical education, etc.).

  • Willing to assist with medical procedures.  Understand and be aware of the medical needs of students.

  • Follow established policies/procedures (e.g. medical concerns, safety, student rights, emergency/disaster plan, etc.).

  • Maintain confidentiality.

  • Regular and predictable attendance.

  • All other duties as assigned.
