Sound Journey Features Gongs, Chimes and Cacao for Valentine Treat at the Box Factory

Four Hearts, a local “sound medicine” collective, is offering a heart-opening
Sound Journey in conjunction with Valentine’s Day. The group uses musical instruments and
ceremonial cacao to guide participants into a relaxing, meditative state which benefits physical
and mental wellbeing.
Experience the Four Hearts Sound Journey the Saturday after Valentine’s Day, on February
15, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Box Factory for the Arts, 1101 Broad St. in St. Joseph. Tickets are
$40. Reserve your spot at ticketstripe.com/4heartssoundyoga. Walk-ins are also welcome. The sound journey (also called a sound bath) can take people to a hypnagogic state (between
wakefulness and sleep) where they can access the subconscious layers of the mind, leading to
deep healing for the body and mind. “When you set intentions in these brainwave frequencies, you
bypass the thinking mind and go straight to the soul,” White said. “We’re setting the intention of
this being a very heart-centered experience.”
Participants can expect to be reclined on the floor; chairs are also available. Although the sound
practitioners will have comfortable supplies on hand, they encourage participants to bring their
own mat, blanket, or pillow to enhance their relaxation. Four Hearts Sound Journey is a delightful
way to celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend with a friend or loved one – or treat yourself!
