"Eighteen years ago, when our Lead Pastor, David Colp, first visited First Church, he noticed something: after the 11:00 AM service, people were heading straight for the exits. It didn’t take long to realize why—there simply wasn’t a place for them to gather, connect, or linger in conversation.
From that moment, The Commons became part of his long-term vision. While other important ministries—like New Heights Auto Ministry, Laundry Hub, The Restoration House, multiple campus launches, and a new ministry building at Benton Heights—took priority, the dream of a welcoming, shared space never faded.
Now, that dream is a reality.
The Commons is more than a building—it’s a place where ministry will grow, community will be strengthened, and people will come together. A space where faith and friendship can flourish."
