Red Woolfe Park Grand Re-Opening & Story Stroll Ribbon Cutting

🌳 Join Us for the Red Woolfe Park Grand Re-Opening & Story Stroll Ribbon Cutting! 🎉

The Village of Decatur invites you to celebrate two exciting community projects at Red Woolfe Park on Friday, November 13, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM!

This special event celebrates the completion of the Red Woolfe Park Improvements Project and the Decatur Story Stroll Project; two investments that enhance recreation, accessibility, literacy, and family-friendly experiences in our community.

🌿 Red Woolfe Park Improvements Project
Made possible in part through a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) grant of $307,300, with a Village match of $204,893, improvements include:
  *  New evergreen landscaping along the southern and western property boundaries
  *  ADA-accessible seating areas, tables, and benches with companion seating
  *  Accessible trash and recycling receptacles
  *  An accessible kayak rack, kayak launch, and gangway
  *  Improved accessible pathways connecting the parking lot to park amenities
  *  A renovated entrance drive and parking lot, including accessible and van-accessible parking spaces
  *  Renovations and expansion of the existing beach area

📚 Decatur Story Stroll Project

The new Story Stroll brings literacy and outdoor recreation together in a fun, interactive experience for children and families. The project features 22 Story Stroll boards installed along an ADA-accessible pathway, displaying bilingual books that encourage reading, exploration, and learning while enjoying the outdoors.

This project creates a welcoming space where families can walk, read, and experience the joy of storytelling together!

Join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony as we celebrate these two projects and the wonderful new opportunities they bring to our community!
