KB4C Michigan will take place in St. Joseph, MI from October 18th to 24th. KB4C is a week-long endurance race and fundraiser that combines both fundraising and kiting elements, where riders compete in both aspects.
From October 18th to October 24th, participants will have the opportunity to log as many miles on the water as possible. You do not have to be in St. Joseph, MI to participate. We highly recommend following the wind for the best ride. Wherever the wind takes you, just make sure to track your miles and submit them to events@projectkoru.org!
After the competition concludes on Friday, October 24th, we will celebrate with a Halloween Costume Wrap Up Party at the Box Factory in St. Joseph, MI on Saturday evening, October 25th. Attendees are invited to celebrate the event’s accomplishments, enjoy awards and prizes, and connect with others passionate about the cause. A $10 suggested donation will be accepted at the door.

Story
While we love the energy of the competition, the heart of our event lies in the shared experience of pushing limits and riding through challenges—just as those facing a cancer diagnosis do every day. This is a one-of-a-kind event where athletes, adventurers, and supporters come together not only for the thrill of competition but also to make a tangible impact. At its heart, KB4C is a fundraising powerhouse, raising funds to support those who need it most. Project Koru is a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of young adult cancer survivors through the healing power of community and the outdoors. This unique age group often faces challenges like fear of recurrence, medical debt, social isolation, and body insecurity, yet remains underrepresented in both research and traditional support networks—leaving many feeling lost and hopeless. At Project Koru, we meet this need by bringing survivors together at Camp Koru, where they reconnect with themselves and others through surfing, adventure, and time in nature. These programs go beyond recreation; they provide survivors with the tools to reclaim their confidence, nurture their mind, body, and soul, and rediscover the best version of themselves while building lifelong bonds with peers who truly understand their journey. By creating this space for renewal, Project Koru helps survivors move forward beyond cancer with strength, hope, and empowerment. What is Project Koru?
