Monday, November 18, St. Joseph, Mich.— Members of the community, friends, families, and all those in-between are all cordially invited to attend PechaKucha 20x20 St. Joseph/Benton Harbor, Volume 19. The event takes place at the Box Factory for the Arts on Thursday, December 5, 2019, from 7 - 9 PM. Doors open at 6 PM. PechaKucha 20x20 is a simple presentation format where presenters run 20 images for 20 seconds each, advancing automatically. There are 8 presenters at this event.

PechaKucha St. Joeseph/Benton Harbor has been bringing local creatives to center-stage for 5 years in 2020, and Volume 19 will kick off the new year with a bang! Whether you have been to all 19 volumes or this is your first, this fun and communal evening spent engaging with local artists and community members is sure to enlighten your evening.

PechaKucha 20X20, conceived by Astrid Klein and Mark Dytham in Tokyo, is an international phenomenon taking place regularly in over 1,000 cities around the world, and attended by more than 250,000 people annually. PechaKucha has been described as the world's biggest physical social network. The key to the success is the simple format where presenters only get 20 images shown for 20 seconds each -- this gives anyone a chance to present their recent project or passion.

Many cities often lack spaces where creative people can share their work, so PechaKucha is about exposing the hidden creativity in a city. PechaKucha nights are organized by local passionate and enthusiastic people with backgrounds in many creative fields.

Doors open at 6 PM, with the first presenter beginning promptly at 7 PM. It is encouraged to arrive early and enjoy good company (and the cash bar!) at a $3 suggested donation. The presenters at PechaKucha 20x20 Volume 18 are:

Amy Story
Dr. Hoss Hamadanchi
Marnie Heyn
Sarah Heeter
Elizabeth Ann Gravitt
Mitri Cortez
Tonia Jean
Kibra VanHorn

Wightman, Krasl Art Center, and individual volunteers collaborate to bring this engaging event to the community.
