Employer Event to Discuss Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse Rules

Lakeland Care Network is offering a free presentation for area employers designed to explain the new Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse rules which go into effect in 2020. This new database will contain information pertaining to violations of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) controlled substances (drug) and alcohol testing program for holders of commercial driver’s license (CDL)
The presentation will take place on Wednesday, December 11, from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. in the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 1300 Cinema Way in Benton Harbor. Registration and breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. and the presentation will begin at 8 a.m.
During the presentation, Ursula Adent, forensic drug and alcohol specialist at Lakeland Occupational Health, will present on employer and employee responsibilities, how to register in the clearinghouse and perform queries, and more. Catherine Boomus, MD, MPH, medical director of occupational medicine at Spectrum Health Lakeland will be in attendance to answer additional questions.
