Berrien County Cancer Service (BCCS) is encouraging all residents of Berrien County to bring their pennies and donations for the 32nd annual "PENNIES FOR PATIENTS” fundraiser to be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The purpose of this event is to raise funds for Berrien County Cancer Service to provide unique in-home skilled nursing and care services to Southwest Michigan cancer patients and their families.
Individual, family, social group and workplace collections provide vital support to the mission of Berrien County Cancer Service. All charitable donations, including coin collections, can be delivered to this year’s drop-off location at the Cedarwood Medical Center located at 820 Lester Avenue in St. Joseph, just off Niles Road.
In the Niles area, St. John’s United Church of Christ will be opening their doors for BCCS to host a collection reception on Thursday, May 13, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Pennies for Patients donations may be brought to the parking lot area located at 601 Sycamore Street, Niles.
We are encouraging everyone to start collection efforts right away! Safety precautions are planned to collect donations and keep everyone safe. Those dropping off coins will not even have to leave their automobile! If you miss the May 13 date of collection, BCCS will continue to collect through the end of May at our office on the second floor of the Marie Yeager Cancer Center.
*Important Note: Coinstar machines do not take donations for this fundraiser.
The Berrien County Cancer Service (BCCS) has been making a difference in the lives of people with cancer since 1948. Its mission is to provide compassionate in-home skilled nursing care and supportive resources for those affected by cancer or related illnesses in Southwest Michigan. All of their services are at no cost to those they serve. BCCS is a local organization that is not affiliated with any national or state organizations. Their services are made possible thanks to United Way of Southwest Michigan, various fund-raisers throughout the year, and generous contributions from the community.
