A silverpoint drawing is made by dragging silver wire across a primed surface such as gessoboard. This process is ideal for creating detailed, sensitive drawings as can be seen in the work of Renaissance artists Albrecht Durer and Leonardo DaVinci. Artist Kerry Binnington will give a brief introduction to the history of silverpoint, demonstrate the process of hatching and crosshatching, and help students create their own silverpoint drawings. Open to intermediate and advanced drawing students.
